Bluegrass Parkway

Bluegrass Parkway has been a major influence to some of the Stringbusters so when we locked in a date in May we couldn’t believe our luck, being friends of Mike Compton they knew what they were in for yet they still agreed to come along anyway. Anyone who has seen BGP will know how true to tradition and professional their act is, it was no different this night and crowd loved the bluegrass style and precision of playing.

The last set included the rare meeting of two Double Bass’s with Maria Duff and the rest of BGP joining John Werner on Bass with the Stringbusters, it was a blast and sounded great, but sadly ended all to soon.

As with all of our visiting acts we offer them a bed for the night and on this occasion Danny and Dana Boothman deserve thanks for being such great hosts, whenever we have had a guest act coming through it has never been a problem finding one of the boys willing to open their homes and look after them, Arnie Young has been exceptionally helpful in this area and I’m sure has really enhanced the whole “Yinnar” experience for whoever has the good fortune of staying at his place.

I would just like to let everyone in the Latrobe Valley know how extremely lucky we are with the entertainment around the area, we just spent another night at the Yinnar Hotel
last Wednesday night (18th April 2012), and were treated to another fantastic few hours of the best entertainment you could get, at first there were the fabulous “STRZELECKI STRINGBUSTERS”
Who had the whole crowd stamping their feet laughing and singing along, after a very short break we were lucky enough to have the great band ” BLUEGRASS PARKWAY”
And they continued where the Stringbusters left off with good music which included great vocals, Guitar,Mandolin,Fiddle,Banjo and Double Bass, the harmonies were beautiful!
The laughter didn’t stop all night, extremely funny stories, but most importantly very nice people, I was lucky enough to go to the place where the Bluegrass Parkway band were
staying at a friends place and the night continued there with singing more music and again lovely company!
What a wonderful place we live in, to be able to be entertained without traveling hundreds of kilometers to Melbourne, yes we have it right here!

I feel personally very honored to know these great friends! My life has changed big time since starting to go to these venues where there is MUSIC.

YES MUSIC MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND!!!!!
